What’s for Dinner
Here is a great frugal dinner, no fuss. Just put in your Crockpot in the mornng before work. When you get home. Minuet Rice and a salad is all you need to complete your meal. Ok, maybe some bread!
Crock Pot BBQ Chicken
Chicken Thighs and legs 8-12
1/2 can low sodium chicken stock/broth
3/4 to 11/2 cups Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce or any honey based bbq sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
Put chicken in crock pot pour in chicken stock add bbq sauce
Cook on high in the crock pot for 3-4 hours on high or 6-8 hours on low
Serve over rice with vegetables on the side (frozen veggies are a great buy and very nutritious)
Dinner is served!!
Tip: Wal Greens has low sodium Chicken broth 2/$1.00 at least once a month with an instore coupon. I buy and stockpile when it is on sale. (we will cover stockpiling in an upcoming post)
Chicken thighs are very cheap all the time at Aldi and frequently go on sale at the other stores. Buy the five lb. bag and save.
I love sweet Baby Ray Bar-B-Q sauce, it goes on sale about every two months. I called the manufacturer and told them how much I liked their sauce and they sent me $10.00 in coupons which lasted me months. I always buy on sale. (I will post about friendly manufacturers also)
*Use any Bar-b-Q you like. Just get it on sale with a coupon.
The word for today is “Sale and Coupon” always together for great savings.
